Short films, supported by you.

Short films usually get made only after a grant jury or a studio says yes, which leaves a small number of people deciding what gets to exist at all. We do it the other way round: the film gets made because enough of the people who wanted to see it paid for it.

The Cage. Nadia and Evan against a red wall.

Funded & completed

The Cage cost about $14,000, all of it donated by people who wanted to see it get made, and it's showing at festivals now.

The Cage

Drama · Raj Bandyopadhyay & Monica Hosseini

The Cage is a 12-minute drama about Nadia, who has just left a controlling relationship and reluctantly signs up for an AI companion app her therapist recommends. Evan, her AI boyfriend, is everything her ex wasn't: patient, supportive, endlessly validating. As she comes to depend on him, it turns into the most sophisticated form of the manipulation she was hoping to avoid.

It cost $14,000 to make and finish, and all of it came from people we asked: friends, family, classmates, cast and crew, a lot of them giving $25 or $50 at a time. Some of what we got wasn't money at all, but gear, locations, and a few things built by hand. Everyone who gave before July 2026 has their name on the finished film.
